Low ceiling

A residential garage door requires a minimum of 10 inches of headroom space. Your garage door system may need a low-headroom track system or a low-headroom-torsion rear-track system. For a garage door opener, you will need slightly more headroom (about 12 inches minimum).

Standard sizes

Unless you have an old garage you will have a standard size opening. Standard sizes are whole width increments starting at 8′ wide and going to 20′ wide. Some door series have sizes smaller than that. Standard heights are 7′ and 8′ tall. Odd-heights and odd-widths are also available and vary by individual door series.

Do I need to replace my old track?

We recommend that all parts of the garage door are replaced when purchasing a new door. The tracks and rollers wear together and there is a very good chance that the sections would not fit the track because of difference in door thickness. Manufacturers, recognizing the importance of the door and tracks operating together, void the warranty unless the door and tracks are replaced as a complete unit.

Can I just replace one section of the door?

In some cases replacing only a section of your garage door is possible. If a section is damaged from something other than weather it is important to also look for damage to the track and rollers. Call us and we are happy to take a look at your door and evaluate your options.

Don’t Pay Too Much

We are a locally owned company and we are happy to provide price quotes or estimates over the phone. By the way there are some companies who don’t; our recommendation is that you not use them. We have heard many stories of price gouging–$600 for springs is a rip off.
